Bad Company brings out the quirkier side of
Battlefield, it's a lot of fun, and it was thought that it would return as the next major instalment in Dice's long running
Battlefield series. It seems like this isn't the case after a new report has claimed that the next
Battlefield game will be a WWII title.
The original leak came from YouTuber
AlmightyDaq, who did present pretty sound reasoning in his video and he seems to have a good track record with accurate leads. In his video he presents plenty of convincing points such as the Vietnam era setting, the various game modes and the weapons that are representative of that time period. It all sounds pretty convincing.
A new report has claimed that while
Bad Company 3 was in consideration, Dice opted for a WWII setting instead. This isn't that hard to believe following the success Dice has had with
Battlefield 1 and is the logical next step for the studio. However, as always with these things you should take it with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from EA or Dice.
In their report,
Eurogamer reached out AlmightyDaq, and it looks like he has backtracked a little bit. He is now claiming that there are actually two
Battlefield games in active development with different development teams. Dice Sweden are working on the WWII
Battlefield game and Dice LA are working on Bad Company 3. If this is accurate the next game in 2018 will focus on WWII, while 2019 will see the release of
Bad Company 3.
Remeber though, grain of salt.
What do you guys think? Would you like to see
Bad Company return, or would you rather a WWII title?
