Respawn Entertainment's battle royale megahit
Apex Legends (that has 25 million players with 2 million playing concurrently since launch) currently gives you a chance to fight other players one of its eight unique characters: Bangalore, Mirage, Wraith, Gibraltar, Caustic, Lifeline, Pathfinder, and Bloodhound.
In their recent exchange on Twitter, Director Neill Blomkamp and Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella have revealed that they wouldn’t say no to introducing Chappie, the main robotic star of Blomkamp's latest feature film (yes, he hasn't helmed a major Hollywood production since 2015 [but he's still set to direct
RoboCop Returns]), in Respawn’s critically acclaimed multiplayer shooter.
Considering that the beloved robot would fit right into the aesthetics of
Apex Legends (that takes place in Respawn's original
Titanfall universe), there's the possibility that Blomkamp and Zampella's wish will come true in the near future. As a reminder, Blomkamp has recently directed a featurette for
Anthem, so his already established relationship with EA may help his cause to bring Chappie to
Apex Legends.
Apex Legends delivers a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor. Players will select from one of eight Legends - each with their own unique abilities and playstyles - and the last team standing wins. Combatants can choose from unique characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death. Balanced squads and teamwork are critical, as each Legend is easy to pick up and learn, but challenging to master.
Apex Legends is available on Origin for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One NOW!
