Yesterday, the news broke that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 apparently won't feature a "traditional" (whatever is means) single-player campaign. If this was really the case, this year's Call of Duty would be the first game in the series, since its launch in 2003, to not feature a proper solo campaign mode. According to the latest report, Activison thinks that players will be happy with a copy of PUBG.

Charlie INTEL's latest update indicates that Raven Software has been tasked with adding a Battle Royale mode to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to fill the content gap of no campaign. There are many reasons to believe that report as the website was one of the first to leak later confirmed information about this year's COD game. Of course, Activision will also deliver the same old zombie mode once again.

Polygon and Kotaku have reported that Treyarch has decided to scrap the campaign mode in BLOPS4 once it became clear that they would not be able to have the campaign ready in time for the game’s launch in October. It's really fascinating, considering that their Black Ops III launched in 2015, and one would think that having three years is more that enough to develop a proper single-player mode.

Activision is set to announce and reveal Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 during a Community Reveal Event on May 17 in Los Angeles. Hopefully the publisher will announce that the game will cost less than $40 and fill feature zero micro transactions. Maybe it's just a belated and unfunny April Fools' joke.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IV will be launching on October 12, 2018
