Celeste is a 2D retro-looking platformer developed and published by Matt Makes Games, which is comprised of Director Matt Thorson and Programmer Noel Berry. The game was released in January of this year for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
Considered by many to be one of the best platformer games in recent years,
Celeste features some of the best elements seen in platforming, simple controls, and a very challenging level of difficulty that gives the game a lot of replay value.
Celeste's reception has been so great that the game was even nominated for Game of the Year, eventually losing out to Santa Monica's brilliant God of War; although it did win in the Best Independent Game category.
Now that the game has made as much noise as it has after its nominations at The Game Awards, it was only fitting that the developer did something to celebrate, and today we have news that
Celeste will be getting physical releases—by Limited Run Games—for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch; both of which will become available on the 1st of January in 2019.
Help Madeline survive her inner demons on her journey to the top of Celeste Mountain, in this super-tight, hand-crafted platformer from the creators of multiplayer classic TowerFall.
Celeste is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
