Dead Cells is a 2D Metroidvania game with rogue-lite elements that combat-wise borrows from the Souls series games. As an Early Access title,
Dead Cells has been available on Steam since 2017, making its console debut this
7th of August.
Dead Cells also bas a beautiful pixel art style that brings out the best that style has to offer, with fluid nimation and colourful sprites. Regarding the game's gameplay, and being a proper Souls-like game,
Dead Cells features absolutely no checkpoints. Players need to explore, kill, die, and repeat in order to get through the game.
The latest hilarious animated trailer for
Dead Cells actually shows us the hardships players go through when playing Souls-like games, constantly getting killed, getting new weapons, trying to get past that unforgiving boss fight, dying, and repeating the whole process until they finally pull through—offering players quite the challenge.
