Owlboy is a 2D platformer with
Metroidvania elements, beautiful 16-bit graphics, and an amazing soundtrack. The game has already been released for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam—with the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 getting physical copies of the game,
as well as a Limited Edition.
Today we've found out that Soedesco—the publisher for the game—has delayed the release of the
Owlboy: Limited Edition in order to ensure that everyone gets their copy on the same day, and across both platforms. The new release date for the Limited Edition is now on the
31st of August. The announcement came from the official
Soedesco site, where Martin Buijsse—Community Manager at Soedesco— explain the reasons behind the delay and this is what he said:
"
We want everyone around the globe to receive their Limited Edition at the same time. This was proving to be a challenge, so we decided to delay the launch so that we can have one worldwide launch date. However, I’m sure true fans will agree that it’s worth the wait!"
The original release date for
Owlboy: Limited Edition was scheduled to release on the
13th of July and would include a bunch of collectibles like a Certificate of Authenticity, the physical copy of the game, the Original Soundtrack, and Metal Coins inspired by the collectible Buccanary coins in the game, amongst others. While the news may be jarring to some, the
Owlboy: Limited Edition has only been delyed a bit over a month, so fans will likely have no problem wiating a bit of extra time before they get their copy of this fantastic bundle.
