Semblance is a 2D puzzle platformer developed by independent studio Nyamakop and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment. The game initially began as a university project in 2015 and was later made into a full release when the developers explored the consequences of having a character that players could mould, as well as the environment.
The world featured in
Semblance is completely deformable—as it is made of playdough—which makes for some very interesting puzzles for players to solve. In the game, players take control of Squish, who is usually entirely soft. An infestation of hard material has begun affecting this playdough world by feeding off it and a guardian of the world gives his life to give birth to Squish, who was actually a piece of that world. In
Semblance, Squish is the one in charge of collecting the essences of the playdough world in order to bring the soft world back to life.
Semblance has players exploring a world that can be fully moulded and deformed to their will as they guide Squish and solve all kinds of puzzles in order to save it. With a beautiful and very inspired minimalist art style, challenging puzzles, and an engaging story, players should not miss out on
Semblance when it releases for the Nintendo Switch and Steam(Mac and Windows) on the
24th of July.
