Guacamelee 2 is a 2D Metroidvania game developed and published by DrinkBoxStudios—a Toronto based independent video game studio. The game is the sequel to the critically praised Guacamelee, and will be coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Steam on the 21st of August.

With Guacamelee 2 being just around the corner, the PlayStation Underground Crew has decided to show off 20 minutes of the game; joined by Graham Smith and Augusto Quijano—DrinkBox Studios Co-Founder and Concept Lead, respectively.

In this new gameplay video, we have the people from DrinkBox Studios comment on why they decided to expand the world of Guacamelee and give the game a proper sequel, talk about the ideas they didn't get to incorporate into the first game but have finally made it into Guacamelee 2. They also show off the game's combat, some exploration proper of any Metroidvania title, some of the beautifully realised environments, and a lot of chickens and pinatas.

Seven years after defeating Carlos Calaca, Juan Aguacate is forced to don his luchador mask again to face a new threat -- this time to the very fabric of space and time.

Guacamelee 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Steam on the 21st of August.
