Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was announced early last month, and it took fans of The Legend of Zelda by surprise, as the game isn't a spin-off title, but a prequel to the events that take place in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — which is quite the exciting premise in and of itself.
As a proper Warriors title developed by Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a hack and slash game through and through, where players will het the chance to play as all four of the Champions of Hyrule, as well as Link, Zelda, and even a younger version of Impa.
While we do know that the game will be more action-oriented that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, we haven't really seen much gameplay, but Nintendo revealed that footage of the game in action would be shown during a Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation.
The Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation was just streamed, and we got over 20 minutes of gameplay for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and there are actually quite a few interesting things that this new video revealed; including a first look at Urbosa in action.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will obviously be taking place in Hyrule, and all of the locations that players who played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be present in the upcoming title., like Gerudo Town, which is where most of the gameplay focuses on.
As revealed by the footage revealed today, all of the characters will have access to the Runes like Stasis, Cryonis, Magnesis, and Remote Bombs, which can be easily accessed during combat in order to take down enemies with relative ease; other than that, they work pretty much exactly the same as they do in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
