Super Mario Odyssey is a return to form for Nintendo's adventurous plumber. The game did away with the rather linear approach the Super Mario Galaxy titles went and, instead, went back to the open-world exploration gameplay from Super Mario 64.

Upon release on the 27th of October in 2017 for the Nintendo Switch, getting a lot of praise for its open world, fantastic level design, brilliant soundtrack, and for bringing the 3D Mario series back to its roots. Super Mario Odyssey was even considered a strong contender for last year's Game of the Year awards, losing out to Nintendo's very own The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

Mario's latest adventure is still being supported these days, with Nintendo releasing new, and free content that include the Luigi's Balloon World, and outfits that can be purchased with in-game currency. Today, Nintendo is celebrating the one-year anniversary of Super Mario Odyssey, and they have released a new illustration that features all of the main characters in the game.
