Just a couple of days ago it was revealed that the Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console in the U.S., with over
15 million units sold for 10 months in a row; quite an impressive feat, but new information reveals that the Switch may be doing better than we thought from a sales standpoint.
According to NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella, the Nintendo Switch is the best-selling hardware platform of September as well as the best-selling platform of 2019. Piscatella also reveals that the Nintendo Switch is the only video game console with sales gains in hardware spending year-to-date, as well as in the month of September.
What Piscatella doesn't specify is if he's only considering the Nintendo Switch as a brand, or if he's also including the Nintendo Switch Lite — which was released on the 20th of September; considering that the new budget handheld console could've helped boost those sales significantly.
Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite are currently available.
