The Nintendo Switch (Former Known As The NX) Is Finally Revealed In This First Look Trailer
It's taken a while, but Nintendo has finally unveiled their next gaming system, and it's called the Nintendo Switch. After the jump, you'll find a trailer, images, and more offering up details on what to expect...
Nintendo announced today that the Nintendo Switch will be released next March, and the trailer below confirms a lot of previously heard rumours about the handheld console. It's going to feature two detachable pieces that can act as individual controllers (named Joy-Cons by the company), and will include a dock which allows gamers to play their favourite titles - released as cartridges - on their TV.
There are a lot of other interesting features listed below, but will they be enough to make the Switch a viable rival for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360? Nintendo may have partnered with a lot of great developers for upcoming titles, but mobile gaming is so big these days that gamers buying a dedicated handheld console like this could be a tough sell. Speaking of which, the price hasn't been revealed.
Among the confirmed launch titles are a 3D Mario game, Skyrim: Definitive Edition, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, NBA 2K17, and what appears to be an updated version of Mario Kart 8.
Introducing Nintendo Switch! In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles.
