It was inevitable. A new rumor concerning the Nintendo Switch has surfaced just days after the video game company stated that no new details concerning the console-handheld hybrid would be released until 2017.

According to Eurogamer, the recently announced Nintendo Switch, which will be a powerful console with handheld capabilities, will possess a 720p multi-touch touchscreen, with a screen size of 6.2".  Eurogamer was also the first site to reveal the home console/handheld hybrid nature of the Switch, months before Nintendo's official unveiling.  Previous Nintendo handhelds have all had single-touch, resistive screens.  With this news, gamers are now wondering if 720p is also the max resolution the Switch will output when docked to a TV.  That would be significantly less than the recently announced Xbox One Scorpio  and PS4 Pro, which both run in native 4K (2160p).

Expect more rumors and speculatory reports to emerge in the coming weeks as we await Nintendo's next big revelation for the Switch, which will occur on January 12, 2017.
