The Nintendo Switch keeps reaching milestone after milestone, as it has already managed to establish itself as a strong competitor in this generation of consoles; keeping in mind that it joined the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One almost at the end of their respective life cycles, of course.

A few weeks ago, we found out that the Nintendo Switch had managed to surpass the lifetime sales of the Nintendo 64 in Japan, and last week it did the same thing by surpassing the PlayStation 4's lifetime sales; an impressive achievement that no one could have ever forseen.

Recently, NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella revealed that the Nintendo Switch has also managed to become the month of April's best-selling console; offset by the decline in sales across the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Again, this is mainly due to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One being currently at the end of their life cycles.

The study also revealed that the 32 GB Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con is the best-selling individual hardware item of 2019, which doesn't really come as a surprise considering that it is the version that Nintendo promoted the most.
