Metroid: Samus Returns was originally released for the Gameboy back in 1991. The follow up to the original Metroid, for the Nintendo Entertainment System, followed Samus as she braved the hostile terrain of an alien planet teeming with vicious life to exterminate the Metroid menace.

Ninntendo has announced that they will re-master and even re-imagine the game for the Nintendo 3D and 2DS. IGN got a chance to try some of the game out at San Diego Comic-Con and released some of the new game-play footage.

Check out the footage below, and pick up your copy of Metroid: Samus Returns when it hits shelves on September 15, 2017.
