Monolith Soft and Nintendo really surprised players when they announced that Xenoblade Chronicles would be releasing for the Nintendo Switch in the form of a definitive edition, which would feature some beautiful new graphics that made everything look even more impressive than it did on the Wii.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is only a graphically enhanced version of the original game, as it also features an enhanced soudntrack, as well as an epilogue episode that gives players a solid new campaign 50-100 hours of brand-new content; all of it with its all-new soundtrack.
Nintendo and Monolith Soft have recently announced that the critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has already managed to sell over an impressive 1 million units, which is actually quite an impressive feat considering that the game has been out for a little bit over a month.
To be more precise, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has sold 1.32 million copies since its release on the 29th of May. Again, quite an impressive feat, especially because this isn't really a new game, but an enhanced version of the original Xenoblade Chronicles that launched for the Wii in June of 2010.
A few days after Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition had released, it had already managed to top the sales charts in the United Kingdom, and earlier in June it was officially revealed that the game had also become the second highest debut in the Xenoblade Chronicles series in Japan. Our hats are off to you, Nintendo and Monolith Soft.
MONOLITHSOFT’s epic Xenoblade Chronicles game, which originally launched in 2012 on the Wii system, is destined to be reborn on Nintendo Switch as Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The game, which chronicles the adventures of Shulk and Fiora, is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
