According to new job listings posted on Crystal Dynamics' official website, the mysterious
Avengers video game may not be what the fans initially imagined. While many players seem to believe that the so-called
Avengers project will be a first-person title (akin to THQ's canceled take on Earth's Mightiest Heroes from 2012), it seems that the
Tomb Raider studio's next title will be a third-person shooter.
For example, the studio is currently looking for a camera designer who has "
3-5 years of game design experience in a camera design role, specifically for 3rd person action adventure titles," while a new combat system designer’s responsibilities
"
include but are not limited to Enemy AI, combat behaviors, stealth, player weapons and tools, cover and melee based mechanics," making it pretty clear that
The Avengers may very well be more similar to the rebooted
Tomb Raider series that THQ’s extravaganza.
Considering that the game's global publisher, Square Enix, will be back at this year's E3, holding their E3 2019 press conference on Monday the 10th of June at 6PM Pacific Time, there's a small chance that the world-famous Japanese company will finally showcase the highly anticipated video game this June.
At the time of writing, Square Enix had not revealed any official details on Crystal Dynamics'
Avengers.
The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018.
The Avengers project hasn't received a release date or specified platforms yet.
