Respawn Entertainment's
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was announced quite a while ago, but we didn't get any trailers until last week, during this year's Star Wars Celebration, when we finally got our first look at the highly anticipated Star Wars title.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will follow the story of Cal Kestis, a young Padawan who managed to survive Order 66 — also known as the Jedi Purge — and is currently on the run and avoiding the newfound Galactic Empire. The game is currently scheduled to release in November of this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Recently, the Nintendo Switch has been getting quite a bunch of titles that are also releasing in other consoles, such as Bethesda and id Software's
Doom Eternal and NetherRealm Studios'
Mortal Kombat 11 — to name but a few — so it is perfectly understandable when someone wonders if the Switch will eventually be getting Fallen Order too.
It seems we have bad news for Nintendo fans, as EA has recently confirmed that
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releasing for the Nintendo Switch is not in their plans at all. The news comes from Jay Ingram, Community Manager at Electronic Arts, who was asked whether there were any plans to bring the game Nintendo's handheld hybrid console, to what Ingram replied with a: "As amazing as the Switch is, no such plans".
While this isn't unexpected, it's certainly disappointing considering that games like
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and
Warframe have been successfully ported to the Nintendo Switch, so a title like
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order could probably work; keeping in mind that the game would obviously look graphically inferior, but most people don't necessarily care about graphics if the game is good.
Cal Kestis—one of the last surviving members of the Jedi Order after the purge of Order 66—is now a Padawan on the run. Experience this all-new single-player Star Wars story from Respawn Entertainment and EA Star Wars on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this holiday season.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the 15th of November.
