The Metal Gear Solid movie has been in the works for quite a long time now, so much so that fans have often feared about the project being completely shut down. Fortunately for fans, movie director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the man in charge of the upcoming film, has kept all of us updated on the project.
What's interesting about this is that Vogt-Roberts has not only been updating fans on the state of the Metal Gear Solid live-action movie, but he has also done so while having a little bit of fun; having the game's original voice actors recording hilarious codecs in classic Metal Gear Solid fashion.
While many players may know the series thanks to Metal Gear Solid, which released for the PlayStation all the way back in 1998, this isn't the first game that was ever released, as video game director Hideo Kojima actually created the first game in 1987.
That's right, Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear series has been around for a solid 33 years. In fact, the first game's anniversary was just yesterday, as the original Metal Gear released on the 13th of July in 1987 for the MSX2 computer, and later ported to the Famicom(NES) — which is likely the version most people are familiar with.
As Metal Gear Solid movie director Jordan Vogt-Roberts celebrates the series' 33rd anniversary, he's shared a hilarious new codec that sees Solid Snake, Otacon, Sniper Wolf, Colonel Campbell, and Liquid Snake also celebrating the original Metal Gear's anniversary; with the voices of David Hayter, Christopher Randolph, Tasia Valenza, Paul Eiding, and Cam Clarke, respectively.
