Earthworm Jim was a series of video games, created by the now-defunct Shiny Entertainment, that saw its humble beginnings in 1994 when it was released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive; eventually getting ported to the Super Nintendo and other consoles down the line.
The latest game in the series,
Earthworm Jim: Menace 2 the Galaxy, was released for the Game Boy in 1999 and the series has been pretty much dead ever since; that is until recently, as it's been revealed
Earthworm Jim will be getting a brand-new game soon.
Earthworm Jim has been recently revealed to be making a comeback, although fans of the series should probably not get too excited just yet, as the game will be a console exclusive for the upcoming Intellivision Amico video game console.
The announcement was made via a
press release by Intellivision Entertainment, in which it was revealed that the original team that developed the first
Earthworm Jim will be coming back together in order to develop this brand-new entry in the series, coming out exclusively for the Intellivision Amico for the
Earthworm Jim series' 25th anniversary.
Intellivision Entertainment also announced that they will be streaming a 20-minute live presentation this Saturday, on the
4th of May at 12PM Pacific Time, to reveal more details about the new
Earthworm Jim.
