If there's one thing you surely remember after playing
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, it has to be Jeremy Soule's
The Song of the Dragonborn, the main theme for the critically acclaimed RPG. This award-winning composer's body of work includes BioWare's
Neverwinter Nights and
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Bethesda Softwork's
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Unfortunately, it looks like Soule won't return to score the upcoming
Elder Scrolls VI. While he has not "
said much about this out of courtesy to Bethesda, I would never turn my back on TES, and I believe that my involvement would hinge on a creative decision on their part and where they want to take the franchise. To confirm, I am currently not involved with TES VI," the composer revealed on Twitter.
The Elder Scrolls VI was officially announced at the very end of Bethesda's E3 2018 conference with a short and pretty enigmatic teaser featuring a quick look at a hilly, peaceful landscape. In an interview with GameSpot at PAX Australia, Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines and ZeniMax Online Studios game director Matt Firor confirmed that
The Elder Scrolls VI won't launch for PS4 and Xbox One and we will have to wait at least until the release of PS5 and the new Xbox, codenamed Scarlett, to play it.
Currently in pre-production at Bethesda Game Studios, the acclaimed developers of Skyrim and Fallout 4. The highly-anticipated next chapter in the iconic The Elder Scrolls series.
The Elder Scrolls VI doesn't have an official release date yet.
