Crysis Remastered being announced by Crytek was quite the surprise for fans of the popular first-person shooter series.Even more surprising, however, was the fact that the game was also being announced for the Nintendo Switch; becoming the first title in the series to be released on a Nintendo console, no less.
The reason why this is so surprising is because this is a remaster of one of the most graphically demanding video games in history, and the Nintendo Switch is definitely not the most powerful console of this generation; still pretty capable, though.
Interestingly enough, Crysis Remastered was initially supposed to launch on Thursday the 23rd of July, but do to the backlash the game's the teaser trailer got from fans, Crytek decided to delay the release. But why is this interesting? Well, it turns out that the Nintendo Switch version is the only one that wasn't delayed, and it will finally become available this Thursday.
Last week, Crytek shared a tech trailer that gave players an idea of what the game would look like running on the Nintendo Switch, while also revealing that this particular version would be supporting gyro aiming; a feature that seems to be exclusive to the handheld hybrid console.
Things got even more interesting now, as Crytek has just released over 30 minutes of gameplay for Crysis Remasterd on the Nintendo Switch, and the game looks a whole lot better than any one could've predicted. This video not only give us an idea of what the game will look like on the Switch, but also how the game will look when it becomes available on the other platforms.
The developers at Crytek have really done a great job with the Nintendo Switch version, so we cannot wait to see what they have done with other versions of Crysis Remastered. Hopefully they will also be implementing gyro aiming on other platforms, but that remains to be seen.
