Earlier this week we found out that Crytek would be releasing a proper announcement trailer for the highly anticipated Crysis Remastered, featuring gameplay and giving fans the opportunity to see what the developers had done to make this an enhanced version of the original Crysis.

The gameplay trailer for Crysis Remastered was supposed to be officially released today, but the trailer managed to got leaked last night, and fans of the series were not pleased with what they saw, as the trailer showed a game that looked pretty siilar to the original.

While there isn't anything wrong with the trailer per se, Crysis is often considered to be one of the most visually striking video games in history, not to mention one of the most graphically demanding that some players still can't play it at maximum settings, believe it or not, and players expected more from a remaster.

Crytek has recently posted an update on the state of Crysis Remastered, revealing that the game will no longer be releasing this summer, as they have decided to keep polishing the game to give players the best experience possible; all of this on account of the reaction, both good and bad, that the leaked trailer got from fans of the Crysis series.

Leaks are usually just that, leaks, but this one really seems to have helped the developers realise that their game was still not up to standard — especially since the game was allegedly supposed to release by the end of July, according to an official listing on Microsoft Brazil's website, and it looked like Crytek was perfectly fine releasing the game in its current state.

Whatever the case, it is commendable to see the developers listening to fans, and promising to deliver the top quality product players expect from them; we'll just have to wait a little bit longer to finally play Crysis Remastered, but it will definitely worth it in the long run.

We've also shared the official message posted on Crytek's Twitter account, as well as the leaked announcement trailer for Crysis Remastered, thanks to the people over at PlayStation Gaming, for those of you wondering what it looked like.

Crytek’s ground-breaking, critically acclaimed first person shooter is back! Crysis Remastered is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch – the game's debut on a Nintendo platform.

Crysis Remastered is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC soon.
