In the upcoming
Gathering Storm DLC (that requires the base game
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI in order to play), brave players will face an ever-changing, active planet, as volcanoes, river floods, droughts and massive storms will now be a part of a fresh Global Climate system that can cause ice sheets to melt and sea levels to rise based on players’ choices. The reactive world is not the only new feature of
Gathering Storm, as the DLC will also add a Diplomatic Victory, new scenarios, and new civilizations.
Speaking of new civilizations, nine new leaders from eight new civilizations will be introduced. According to Firaxis Games, each of them brings unique bonuses and gameplay, as well as a total of nine unique units, four unique buildings, three unique improvements, two unique districts, and one unique governor. Following the recent reveal of Hungary, it's time to move into more exotic places.
Maori, Canada, and Inca will officially join the
Civilization VI: Gathering Storm roster. Firaxis has released six brand new trailers for the expansion introducing us to Kupe, the leader of the Maori civilization, the Canadian civilization and its leader, Wilfrid Laurier, and finally the Inca civilization and its leader, Pachacuti. Be sure to check out over three hours of pure
Gathering Storm gameplay below:
The second expansion to Civilization VI introduces an active planet where geology and climatology present unique new challenges. Chart a path to victory by developing new advanced technologies and engineering projects and negotiating with the global community in the World Congress on critical issues. The choices you make in the game will influence the world ecosystem and could impact the future of the entire planet. Natural disasters like floods, storms, and volcanoes can pillage or destroy your Improvements and Districts – but they may also refresh and enrich the lands after they pass.
Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Gathering Storm is coming to PC on February 14, 2019.
