Snapshot Games is another video game developer that has decided to jump on the Epic Games Store exclusivity bandwagon as their upcoming
Phoenix Point will be available only on the Epic Games store for the first year. This unexpected decision basically means that you won't be able to purchase it on GOG and Steam as initially planned when the
X-COM-like real-time strategy launches in September.
Considering that the already announced GOG and Steam releases won't launch until September 2020 at the earliest, it's definitely bad news if you're not planning to buy the highly anticipated title via the EGS. Thankfully, anyone who Is not happy with this deal will be offered a full refund while those who helped the games studio fund the game will receive a key for the Epic Games Store at launch.
Be sure to take a look at CEO and Chief Designer of Snapshot Games Julian Gollop's message below:
The human population has been decimated. Survivors gather in isolated havens spread throughout the world. A few factions control most of the havens and resources, but they have radically contrasting ideologies and guard deep secrets. The Phoenix Project is a worldwide organization designed to be activated when the world is in peril. You control one cell, gathering some of the world’s best scientists, engineers and soldiers. After your cell is activated, you realize that you have no contact with any other cells. You need to find out what happened to them.
Phoenix Point is coming to Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS in September.
