Yesterday, the director of
The Last of Us Part II announced that
the highly anticipated sequel's release date has been shifted back from February to May as Naughty Dog realised that they would need more time to properly finish the game — you can find out more on that here.
An unfortunate side effect of
The Last of Us Part II having its release date delayed is that
Ghost of Tsushima's has apparently also been. The Sucker Punch Productions game hasn't yet had its release date confirmed. News of the delay comes from a reputable insider by the name of Jason Schreier who tweeted the following in regards to the release date change of
The Last of Us Part II.
"By the way, Ghost of Tsushima doesn't have a public release date yet, but it'll also be bumped later into 2020 to account for this delay," said Schreier on Twitter (
@jasonschreier).
However, though the PlayStation 5 has been announced as releasing in late 2020, that doesn't mean that
Ghost of Tsushima is being pushed onto the next-generation console now —
despite rumours of such a thing doing the rounds back in August.
The
inFamous developer's game will still debut on the PlayStation 4, confirmed Schreier.
"Don't expect them to suddenly turn it into a PS5 game or anything, but it was originally planned for the first half of the year - not anymore."
