Thanks in large part to his work on the Metal Gear Solid series, Hideo Kojima is often described by gamers and his peers as an auteur in the world of video games. His reputation, coupled with all of the gameplay we've seen so far, strongly indicates that his latest venture, Death Stranding, will be one of his most unique games yet.
However, despite being a vastly different creation than the Metal Gear titles, it looks as if the two works will have one thing in common—an M-rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
According to the ESRB page, Death Stranding has earned its Mature rating for "blood, intense violence, partial nudity, and strong language," which shouldn't be a huge surprise to those who've seen the trailers for the game and are familiar with Kojima's past works.
Death Stranding is set to launch exclusively on the PlayStation 4 November 8, 2019.
