No Man's Sky has had the unfortunate experience of being surrounded in nothing but controvarsy. But Hello Game's seems to be doing it the best they can to fix their image in the gamer-eye. A recent patch was released for NMS that included several bug fixes and standard updates to keep the game running smoothly, but the biggest addition it provided was the foundation of multiplayer. Now, I say foundation multiplayer because while on paper it is called multiplayer, it isn't what you'd have been expecting.
Normally when you think of something like multiplayer, you think of 2 or more players being able to interacting online in a video game, seeing each other's avatars and customized characters, and being able to either work shoulder to shoulder on missions, or battle it out in deathmatch game modes. The multiplayer in NMS only allows for players to meet up in the form of glowing blue orbs, with as many as 16 players being able to congregate. So is this what players were expecting in the form of multiplayer? Probably not, but it's something.
