As expected, Sony announced the PS4 Pro at their PlayStation Meeting event yesterday. With 4K and HDR capabilities, the console will see a select handful of future releases take advantage of the upgraded hardware to push the boundries of what this generation of systems is currently capable of.
However, lead system architect Mark Cerny has made it clear that the Pro shouldn't be viewed as being next gen. "PS4 Pro is not the start of a new console generation, nor is it a console that's going to blur the lines between generations," Cerny explained. That's arguably evident from the fact that it won't support 4K Blu-rays, a decision which has not gone down well with many of the gamers interested in it.
Along with the images below, it was also officially confirmed that the PS4 Pro will cost USD$399/£349/AUD$560 and reach stores on November 10th, later this year. Do you have any interest in buying one? As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
