Square Enix surprised their loyal fans when they announced, back in September, that they were working on The Last Remnant: Remastered; which is, as the name suggests, a remaster of the original title. Upon announcing the title, Square Enix also revealed that this game would come out exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

This is the first time that The Last Remnant is released on a PlayStation console, since the original game was originally released for the Xbox 360; although a port of the game was planned for the PlayStation 3 but was, to the dismay of many, never released.

The Last Remnant: Remastered on the PlayStation 4 is using Unreal Engine 4 to give this version of the game a better resolution than that seen on the Xbox 360; which makes the PlayStation 4 the definitive version of the game thus far.

Now that the game has finally become available today, Square Enix has released a brand-new trailer for The Last Remnant: Remastered, showing off the game's beautiful, and improved graphics, as well as exposing fans to the story of this timeless classic.

Take a look:

Mitra, yama, qsiti, sovani... These four races exist in one world. A world filled with Remnants — mysterious artifacts from an ancient era.

The Last Remnant Remastered is available for the PlayStation 4 today.
