FromSoftware's PlayStation VR title
Déraciné launched in November, igniting players' imagination for all the wrong reasons. In the game, the player can find, pick up, and interact with a simple doll that's quite similar to those that can be found in From's
Bloodborne. The doll even appears to be repeating the "
make contact" gesture from the acclaimed PS4 exclusive and when players interact with it, the description reads "
a doll of the stone girl Fiona, who appears in the game as an unfinished tale."
According to FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki, it was just an Easter Egg and making players think that it's a way to confirm that
Bloodborne 2 is in the works wasn't the studio's intention. "
I’m sorry for getting everyone’s hopes up, but we only put in those Easter eggs for fun," Miyazaki said in an interview with 4Gamer. "
Many people on Déraciné’s staff, and of course myself, really love Bloodborne, so we wanted to put references to it… But we went overboard. We’re reflecting on it."
Considering that Miyazaki confirmed in the same interview that From is simultaneously developing three major titles (and
Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice is the only announced one), it's pretty safe to say that the acclaimed Japanese creators are already working on a
Bloodborne sequel, as over 11 million players checked out the first title since its release in 2015, but as of now, it's just our wild speculation.
Déraciné is a story adventure game from Sony Interactive Entertainment, SIE Japan Studio, FromSoftware and Hidetaka Miyazaki, known for their collaboration on Bloodborne. Taking the role as an unseen faerie in a secluded boarding school, the player moves around in frozen time, collecting various bits of information that serve to unfold an overarching mystery. The story is a new take on classic adventure games and utilizes PS VR’s technology to take gamers on an entirely unique and personal experience.
Déraciné is available for PlayStation VR NOW!
