A big group of players didn't appreciate Ninja Theory's take on the
Devil May Cry series in 2013's
DMC. While the game's world design and combat were top-notch, the new, younger version of Dante sparked many discussions among gamers. Thankfully, the Dante we know and love will return in
Devil May Cry 5, Capcom's first proper
DMC game since
Devil May Cry 4 that launched over ten years ago.
The publisher has decided to release the full presentation of
Devil May Cry 5 that took place during this year's edition of New York Comic Con. The video is focused on Dante's weaponry and new gameplay mechanics we haven't seen in the series yet. For example, Son of Sparda will have an opportunity to use a deadly cap known as the Faust hat, named after one of the most intriguing bosses from
DMC4.
Devil May Cry 5 will see the return of classic weapons such as the Cavaliere bike, the Balrog (Dante's devil arm), and the Cerberus (returning from
Devil May Cry 3) with its three modes. The video below features the commentary of director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Matt Walker which is filled of unexpected information. It also spotlights over 30 minutes of new gameplay so be sure to check it out:
A new demonic invasion has begun with the seeds of a demon tree being sown in Red Grave City. Now fully equipped with his trusty Red Queen and Blue Rose, and a new arsenal of rad robot hands thanks to his partner Nico, Nero must rise up to this new impossible task. With such insane amount of energy and destruction emanating from this surprise invasion, the stage is now set for the latest chapter of the “Sons of Sparda” saga.
Devil May Cry 5 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC March 8, 2019.
