Depending on where you're living, it is either already Friday the 10th of April or it will be very soon — which means that some lucky players have already had the chance to play Square Enix's long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake; putting an end to a 5-year-long journey since the game was first announced.
Over the past five years, Square Enix has been doing their best to give players the best video gaming experience possible; keeping players updated by sharing information about the game, exciting trailers, and even releasing a playable demo of Final Fantasy VII Remake on the PlayStation Store.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is introducing a brand-new combat style that caters more to younger players, as it does away with the more traditional turn-based combat. This, however, does make the game even more dynamic than ever before, while also managing to keep some RPG elements for fans of the genre.
The original soundtrack has also been rearranged in order to keep the essence of the original Final Fantasy VII intact in this brand-new remake — which is particularly important if we keep in mind that Nobuo Uematsu's score is widely considered to be one of the best soudntracks in video game history.
Now that the wait is finally over, and as Square Enix celebrates the launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake, producer Yoshinori Kitase has shared a special message with fans; thanking them for their support and their patience, and hoping that they will all enjoy this remake — whether they are long-time fans of the original, or newcomers to the series.
Give it a watch:
In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?
Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PlayStation 4 today.
