Because of the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, Square Enix announced, just last week, that they were evaluating the whole situation in terms of distribution of the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake; reassuring fans that they would do everything within their reach to guarantee physical copies will arrive on time.
Square Enix has made sure to let fans know, especially those who pre-ordered their copy of Final Fantasy VII Remake, that their orders have not been cancelled, but these may take a little bit longer to arrive depending on the location — which is more than understandable, all things considered.
Today Square Enix has released an update on the whole issue, once again reassuring fans that their physical copies of Final Fantasy VII Remake will not be cancelled, and that they have done everything they can in orde to ensure that these will be delivered as soon as possible.
"In many countries and states, retail stores are closing to help with social distancing measures. If you placed a pre-order with one of these retailers, we advise you to check their websites for the latest information about the status of pre-orders, as well as pick-up and/or delivery information," Square Enix reveals.
The developer also encourages customers who have preo-ordered their copye of Final Fantasy VII Remake to ensure that their information(mailing address and contact details) are up to date; this is because some retailers have already begun contacting customers in order to update them on details about the game's delivery.
"We are working hard to ensure as many of you as possible can play the game on April 10 and will update further when we have more information," Square Enix concludes.
In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?
Final Fantasy VII Remake will become available for the PlayStation 4 on the 10th of April.
