For all of those who are still not aware,
Judgment is a
Yakuza series' spin-off title developed by Ryū ga Gotoku(Yakuza studio) and published by Sega, which was released — exclusively for the PlayStation 4 — last year in Japan and this June in Western countries.
During this year's Gamescom, Spanish video game website
Meristation sat down with Sega Producer Daisuke Sato, who revealed some interesting details about Ryū ga Gotoku's
Judgment; hinting that they are looking forward to begin working on new related projects.
"
From our point of view, Judgment has exceeded the sales expectations we had in the West; they are being very good," revealed Sato, who then added — when asked whether they had plans to continue the franchise — that they "
as a team, would like to continue working on future installments of the Judgment series."
Judgment had its share of internal problems earlier this year, due to
one of the main voice actors being arrested for drug possession — and it is certainly refreshing to see that none of that controversy affected the game's sales; especially those sales here in the West.
Without a doubt, fans of both the
Yakuza series and the recently released
Judgment will be looking forward to more titles in this brand new intellectual property by Ryū ga Gotoku.
SEGA of America is proud to announce that the new courtroom thriller from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, Project JUDGE (working title), will release in 2019 on the PlayStation®4. Project JUDGE will feature the voice acting talents of Japanese actor/artist Takuya Kimura as the game's main protagonist, Takayuki Yagami.
Judgment is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
