Metal Slug XX is coming to the PlayStation 4 this Summer. The announcement came from this year's PAX East event where SNK revealed that they will be porting the game that was initially released on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and was later ported to the Xbox 360.
This isn't the first time the game was released since
Metal Slug XX,
that came out for the PSP, is actually revised version of
Metal Slug 7 that was released on the Nintendo DS back in 2008. As a bit of trivia,
Metal Slug 7 is also the first game in the main series that didn't get an Arcade release.
Now,
Metal Slug XX is making a comeback and will be released on the PlayStation 4 via digital download on the PSN. From what we can gather by looking at the official pic released during the PAX event, it is safe to assume that Leona will be selectable from the get-go instead of being a DLC character. It also seems to have kept the 4:3 aspect ratio for the game's screen but it's fitted to 16:9 and was added borders with art from the game.
The battle scars from the war against General Morden had started to fade and the reconstruction of the cities and the army was well under way. But just as life was returning to normal, a mysterious figure was spotted on Garbage Island, a sign that this war was far from over.
