Announced during the PlayStation State of Play, the DLC will see Eve from Stellar Blade receiving a costume based on 2B from Nier Automata. No further details on the DLC were shared.
It is unclear how much content the Stellar Blade x Nier: Automata collaboration will add to the game so far. The tagline for the DLC states that "worlds collide," which could be nothing more than exciting jargon to convey the nature of the collab, but it could also be interpreted as a flag for some sort of additional story event.
Gamers are hoping that this collaboration will add story missions, and given the reality-warping nature of the narratives of both games, there's a chance that Kim Hyung-tae and Nier: Automata director Yoko Taro will play around with a crossover that integrates both characters into the same world.
It was also confirmed during the State of Play that Eve will appear as a cameo bot in the upcoming Astro Bot speedrun DLC.
The DLC will consist of 5 new online speedrun levels. Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, director Nicolas Doucet said: “Many of you asked for the return of speedrun levels, so we hope you enjoy those. Time to sharpen those jumping skills and shave milliseconds at every turn.”
Stellar Blade may have been an unexpected success for some, but it's already on track for even more popularity. Stellar Blade has taken off as a hit title for PlayStation. With estimates of over 1 million copies sold in its first two months, its success doesn't appear to be stopping anytime soon.
Developer ShiftUp has geared up for the next steps for this release, which includes work on a PC port for Stellar Blade as well as a sequel to the game. There have already been some DLC additions to Stellar Blade, but fans were told to expect even more in the future. The DLC is expected to release by the end of the year, and PlayStation says that the new photo mode will be added to the game on the same day. The State of Play trailer gives a more in-depth look at the upcoming photo mode, showing off tons of potential options including posing, lighting, framing, focus, and more.
The final announcement in Stellar Blade's State of Play feature revealed that the game's full original soundtrack, with over 180 tracks, will be added to over 30 music streaming platforms worldwide.
The future for Stellar Blade looks good for the players who own the game.
