There’s little doubt that Sony knows very well how to support their gaming systems. Every single PlayStation generation has been supported with acclaimed exclusive titles, such as
God of War, Crash Bandicoot, Gran Turismo and
Killzone, just to name a few. Back in 2009, Sony proudly announced that one more title would join the PlayStation 3 family - Rockstar Games' new IP mysteriously titled
Agent.
The game was announced at Sony's E3 2009 press conference (yeah, there was a time when Sony actually attended E3) hosted by the former President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America Jack Tretton. During the show, Tretton revealed that
Agent would be a PlayStation 3 exclusive designed by the masterminds from Rockstar North, creators of
Grand Theft Auto IV and
Manhunt.
Agent was supposed to be a global adventure focused on investigating shady intelligence organizations. Unfortunately, it looks like the dream is over, as publisher Take-Two has abandoned the trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Considering that we haven't heard any official news regarding
Agent since its announcement, it's clear that this
Agent will never knock on your door.
