Microsoft and 343 Industries just announced during their
Inside Xbox that 2014's
Halo: The Master Chief Collection, featuring
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and
Halo 3: ODST (only campaign), is coming to PC. While the official release date of this long-awaited port of the Xbox One version hasn't been revealed just yet, we know that it will include one more video game.
For the first time ever,
Halo: Reach will join the collection on both Xbox One and PC, giving you a unique change to experience the definitive
Halo storyline (not counting
Halo 5: Guardians that was focused more on other Spartans units rather than the series' main star). According to Microsoft, the Master Chief’s epic journey will be brought together with a total of 67 campaign missions plus more than 120 multiplayer maps (including the original
Halo: Combat Evolved ones) and
Spartan Ops maps.
Wisely, Microsoft and 343 won't launch all the games at once, but will roll out only one title at a time, starting with the 2010 hit as the rest of the series will follow in chronological order. On Xbox One,
Reach will be released in two parts: the
Campaign and
Firefight modes will be available as a premium add-on, with the multiplayer component coming in a completely free update. As always, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to all the multiplayer modes without any additional purchases.
