When it came time for Microsoft to come up with some April Fools Day pranks, somebody's idea evidently got sorted into the wrong pile.
Microsoft are set to drop some major Xbox news during E3 in a couple days, but it seems that they've already upstaged themselves. The coroporation has announced (via
Gamespot) a collaboration with Lynx in order to produce a new fragrance line by the name of: Lynx Xbox. This range will consist of deodorant, body spray, and shower gel.
Here's the official description of the product:
"Lynx Xbox is a fresh scent of pulsing green citrus, featuring top notes of kaffir lime and winter lemon, aromatic herbal middle notes of mint and sage, and woody bottom notes of patchouli and clearwood. Containing a range of natural essential oils, the Xbox Lynx range comes with a sleek new look and features a body spray, deodorant, and shower gel."
Xbox Lynx will be releasing in Australia and New Zealand in July. Presumably, if it proves to be a success over there, it will then be released elsewhere. While you might see a collaboration between Activision and Doritos or Mountain Dew every now and again, this collection of products is certainly a first for the gaming industry.
Following the announcement, Seamus Blackley, the creator of the Xbox took to Twitter (
@seamusblackley) to share his speechlessness. As you can see below, he has
"no comment." Here's hoping we find out more on this exciting development at E3.
