The Xbox Series X and the entry-level Xbox Series S were released last week, and both consoles have been selling like hot cakes ever since. As a matter of fact, Microsoft's Vice President of Gaming Phil Spencer revealed that this is the largest launch in Xbox history.

To drive the point even further, publishers have also revealed that Xbox Series X|S has already managed to become Microsoft's biggest console launch in the United Kingdom — with a combined estimate of 155,000 units sold since it hit store shelves last Tuesday.

As it turns out, the Xbox Series X|S has been selling so well that players are having a hard time finding one at all, which is a rather furstrating situation for both fans and Microsoft.

Phil Spencer has stated, during a GlitchCon stream that took place this past weekend, that they are doing their best to meet the high demand;  taking time to apologise for Xbox Series X|S supply shortages.

"We need more consoles! The number one request I get over and over is, 'it's so hard to get the consoles right now', and you know I really apologise for that," replied Spencer when he was asked about how the launch of their all-new console is going.

"I mean, we've been building them for almost two months now and trying to get as many into the stores as we can, but the demand is just so high. But it's been great. The developers did amazing jobs. I mean, this is just a crazy, crazy year with all kinds of obstacles to getting games done and a platform done, so just kudos to all the teams, both Sony and us, and everybody in third-parties for getting what we've been able to get done, done, it's just been fantastic."

Spencer had already mentioned that Xbox Series X|S sales were going to be dictated by supply this holiday, when specifically addressing the lack of first-party titles on their recently released console, and it looks like it has already been giving Microsoft a pretty good idea of how well both of their next-gen consoles are selling.

The fact that Microsoft is struggling to meet demands right now is a good sign, though, but this is to be expected from a successfull launch, and the Xbox SeriesX|S has definitely proved to be quite the successful item since last week's release.

Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are currently available.
