As we turn the calendar page from September, both Microsoft and Sony have announced their lineup of free games for Xbox Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus, respectively.
For Games with Gold, we'll be getting four games - two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 (with Xbox One compatibility). Exclusively for Xbox One,
Overcooked!, a multiplayer cooking simulation game where you "cook and serve up a variety of tasty dishes," will be available from October 1-31. On October 16, the action-RPG
Victor Vran will be free up until November 15.
On Xbox 360,
Stuntman: Ignition, an action-racing game where you perform vehicle-based stunts for fictional blockbuster movies, will be available from October 1-15. Closing out the month will be
Hitman: Blood Money from October 16-31.
Sony, meanwhile, is embracing the spookiness of October and spirit of Halloween. Horror-survival game
Friday the 13th: The Game will be available for PS4. In the game, you can play as either Jason Voorhees or a camp counselor alongside other players. As a counselor, you must escape Camp Crystal Lake while a player controlling Jason hunts you down.
Joining
Friday the 13th: The Game on PS4 is
Laser League, a futuristic sports game in which teams of players compete against each other and outlast their opponents by setting up moving lasers in an arena.
For PS3, we're getting
Master Reboot and
The Bridge, the latter of which is playable on PS4 and Vita as well. Finally, for Vita, we're getting
Rocketbirds 2: Evolution and
2064 Read Only Memories, both of which are playable on PS4.
October's PS Plus games will be available starting Tuesday, October 2. You have until then to download September's free games.
