Ubisoft's Big Screen Adaptation Of THE DIVISION Adds Jessica Chastian
The cast of the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Division just got even more impressive as Oscar nominated actress Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty has joined lead star Jake Gyllenhaal...
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Jessica Chastain is in talks to join Jake Gyllenhaal in The Division, Ubisoft Motion Pictures' planned adaptation of the hit video game. Assassin's Creed is up first for them, while Splinter Cell starring Tom Hardy is still floating around at Paramount (and will presumably receive the green light depending on how well the former performs this December).
The Division is a third person shoot 'em up which sees the player take on the role of an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division, a.k.a. The Division, as they search for the origins of a smallpox pandemic which has left New York City a dystopian wasteland. As well as starring, Gyllenhaal is producing the movie, and Ubisoft is packaging the project themselves before shopping it out.
Chastain is a great addition to this big screen take on the property, and just like with Assassin's Creed, it's clear Ubisoft isn't messing around when it comes to attracting top tier talent. Stay tuned...
