It is no secret that MARVEL's Avengers hasn't had the reception that Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics had hoped for their take on the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, as the game has been very poorly received by fans of the iconic characters and mainstream players alike.
A massive dip in players was even reported by Steam, which led to even more matchmaking issues because those who didn't stop playing the game couldn't find any other users to play online, which is disappointing in many aspects.
Head of Crystal Dynamics Scott Amos did address the dip in active Steam players, while also revealing that they were currently working on a few updates that will make the gaming experience better for players.
To make matters worse, the developers still haven't released the content that they promised would be available within weeks after the launch of MARVEL's Avengers. All of the above has caused Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' new title to severly underperform in regards to sales.Long story short, MARVEL's Avengers has had quite the rough couple of months since its launch in September.
Square Enix has announced today that a new update for MARVEL's Avengers has just rolled out, and it is addressing quite a bunch of known issues that made the game feel somewhat unpolished, which is great news for those who have been disappointed by its technical performance.
Unfortunately, this update doesn't introduce the additional content that players have been eagerly waiting for, so no news about Hawkeye's free post-launch campaign just yet, which is disappointing but understandable, since they have made it a priority to fix any issues that could ruin the experience for players.
The full list of patch notes for the Patch V1.3.5 is actually quite extensive for us to post here, so we urge you to visit Square Enix's official website for MARVEL's Avengers by clicking right here, and find out exactly what is it that the developers at Crystal Dynamics have fixed.
Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
MARVEL's Avengers is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version expected to release in 2021.
