Bandai Namco and Arc System Works' Dragon Ball FighterZ has been out for a while now, coming out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in January of this year. During this year's E3, we finally got an official announcement that the game was coming to the Nintendo Switch—making a lot of Nintendo fans happy.

While not that many details were shared about Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch—other than the obvious portability it will have—today we get new information through Bandai Namco's verified Twitter account. As per the tweet, the Nintendo Switch Open Beta will begin in August ahead of its 28th of September release. Upon launch, the game will also feature a few new modes not present in current versions of the game such as 1v1 and 2v2 matches, as well as offline 6-player Party Match mode—due to the Switch's portability.

Dragon Ball FighterZ features, by default, 3v3 matches and fans of the game—such as myself—have been wanting 1v1 matches pretty much since the game came out(I really struggle picking 3 characters for every fight and I know others do too) so it is great news to find out that the Switch version will include more options. Hopefully a patch is added later on so that players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC can get to play 1v1 or 2v2 matches eventually.

After the success of the Xenoverse series, it’s time to introduce a new classic 2D DRAGON BALL fighting game for this generation’s consoles. DRAGON BALL FighterZ is born from what makes the DRAGON BALL series so loved and famous: endless spectacular fights with its allpowerful fighters. Partnering with Arc System Works, DRAGON BALL FighterZ maximizes high end Anime graphics and brings easy to learn but difficult to master fighting gameplay to audiences worldwide.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 28th of September.
