The latest update to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has added new variants of two multiplayer maps as well as added a couple of brand new gamemodes. Treyarch recently provided a rundown of the update on Reddit.

The fan-favourite Firing Range map has had an overhaul, while the original version is still present, there's now a version doing the round which is set in the dead of night. Similarly, the new Seaside map has also been duplicated, this time set during sunset. While the overall layout of each map is exactly the same, apperance-wise they're dramatically different.

As well as the maps, the new update has added a variant of the Hardpoint gamemode - named: Chaos Hardpoint. This version's score limit is set at 1,000 points and zones spawn at random rather than in a set order. Team's earn points by standing their ground amid the Hardpoint - the more teammates in the zone, the more points earned per second.

First intoduced in Black Ops 3, the "Safeguard" gamemode has returned. This mode sees one team on the attack, while the other defends. The attacking team must escort a robot from one side of the map to the other, whilst the defense must attempt to prevent the robot from reaching its destination. If you know the "Payload" gamemode from Overwatch, you know Safeguard.

What do you think of the additions to multiplayer? Which is your favourite part of the update?
