Great news for fans of
Dead Cells, Motion Twin's acclaimed metroidvania rogue-like title, as the developer low-key announces "huge DLC" that will be available soon.
The announcement about the DLC was made during a brand-new behind the scenes video that shows us footage of the development working on
Dead Cells. According to the video, this "huge DLC" will be free for all players who already own a copy of the game.
According to the developers at Motion Twin, the game, as it is, is already complete, but they wanted to add something that feels even more like a conclusion to the story; thus them wanting to deliver this free DLC.
Late in December of last year,
the studio revealed that they had no plans to make a Dead Cells sequel, but the fact that they are working on this new free DLC should leave more than a few fans happy about their decision to expand on the story in a way that also gives it a proper conclusion.
In case you're wondering about the announcement, and don't want to watch the video in its entirety, the announcement is made at around the
8:52 minute mark; although giving the whole video a watch is still pretty much worth it.

You grew up with the roguelikes, witnessed the rise of the roguelites and even the birth of the roguelite-lites? We'd now like to present for your consideration our RogueVania, the illegitimate child of a modern Roguelite (Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon, Spelunky, etc.) and an old-school MetroidVania (Castlevania: SotN and its ilk).
Dead Cells is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
