With gamescom in full swing,
CD Projekt RED has released a fresh batch of screenshots for their upcoming game
Cyberpunk 2077. It's assumed that these are just the tip of the iceberg for this week's news surrounding the highly anticipated RPG. The developer recently
shared a link to IGN's gamescom Twitch livestream, suggesting more details - and possibly gameplay footage - will be shown there. In the meantime, feast your eyes on these glorious hi-res screenshots which showcase the brutal dystopian Night City, California.
While the screenshots are certainly impressive, fans are no doubt hoping for some gameplay. CD Projekt RED officially unveiled
Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 with a stunning trailer comprised of game engine footage. While it did a nice job establishing the premise of the upcoming game,
gameplay was shown behind closed doors.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith's classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 does not yet have a release date, with many speculating it may launch with next-gen consoles; however, CD Project RED has said they are aiming for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
