It sure has taken Square Enix a long time to release Dragon Quest XI on the Nintendo Switch — considering that this was the first title to be announced for the console before Nintendo even revealed it — but the game is finally out in a bit over a month and fans of the series couldn't be happier.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch is, as the name appropriately suggests, the definitive edition of the title; providing players with options that won't be available in other consoles, such as the ability to switch from 3D to the classic 16-Bit art style any time they want.

Earlier today, Square Enix released a brand-new trailer for Dragon Quest XI S on the Nintendo Switch, focusing on the World of Erdrea and some of the enemies that players will have to fight against when the game finally releases on the 27th of September.

Check it out:

DRAGON QUEST® XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age™ tells a captivating tale of a hunted hero and is the long-awaited role-playing game from series creator Yuji Horii, character designer Akira Toriyama and composer Koichi Sugiyama.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch will be released on the 27th of September.
