During this year's E3, Square Enix surprised fans of the Mana series by announcing that they would be bringing the third game in the acclaimed role-playing series — which would be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

Trials of Mana is a remake of Seiken Densetsu 3, which was originally released in 1995 for the Super Famicom. What's interesting is that the game had not been released in the West before; in fact, Seiken Densetsu 3 has never been re-released since its original launch.

While Square Enix's announcement did give us a first look at the Seiken Densetsu 3 remake, it didn't give us an official release date; that is, until recently, as the developer released a brand-new trailer for Trials of Mana and has confirmed that the role-playing title will be releasing on the 24th of April in 2020.

Check it out:

In a world on the brink of war, the power of mana suddenly starts to weaken… Step into the shoes of 6 unique heroes and rescue the world from the encroaching darkness in Trials of Mana, a full HD remake of the third entry in the seminal Mana series (Seiken Densetsu 3 in Japan), never before released in the West.

Trials of Mana will release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on the 24th of April in 2020.
